National Parks Act (Cap. 228).

This Act provides with respect to establishment, control and management of national parks. It establishes for the purposes of this Act a Board of Trustees as a body corporate. The President may, with the consent of the National Assembly, by proclamation published in the Gazette, declare any area of land to be a national park for the purposes of this Act. The area specified in the First Schedule to this Act is declared a national park to be called the Serengeti National Park. The Minister may give to the Trustees directions of a general or specific character as to the exercise by the Trustees of their functions under this Act and the Trustees shall give effect to every such direction. Trustees shall control, manage and maintain national parks. Specified activities in national parks, including hunting and fishing, require a permit of an authorized officer appointed by the Trustees
