Firearm Safety Laws
California is the nation’s leader in firearm safety laws. Together, these laws protect Californians from gun violence and contribute to our low rate of firearm mortality. But as Californians we refuse to settle—we create, innovate, and upgrade. We are always looking for new ways to keep Californians safe, while respecting the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding Californians. And we cannot do it alone—we rely on the federal government to do its part so that illegal guns cannot be smuggled into California.
