Monte application for enrolment fee

Monte Vista Christian School has been offering faith- and values-based education grounded in Christian traditions and mission, serving families from multiple faith perspectives, since our founding in 1926. MVC was started by missionaries, Nell and R.O. Price, with a desire to provide children with an affordable education focused on Christian character and values, as well as academics and life skills. We continue to stay true to our history and tradition — making an exceptional Christian education accessible.

How do we do it? We keep Christ at the center of everything we do inside and outside the classroom

We pursue excellence in academics, athletics, the performing and visual arts, and character development

Our students are seen, known, and valued for who they are, what they believe, where they’ve been, and where they’re going

Teach critical life skills through our IB framework, such as how to be principled, open-minded, inquisitive, and an excellent communicator

We are committed to making an excellent Christian education accessible to families in the Monterey Bay area as well as around the world. We recognize affordability is an important consideration for parents, which is why we offer financial aid for those families who need it.

Honoring our history and mission, we offer need-based financial aid as a means of helping as many families as possible afford the best education they can get for their children. Our financial aid application process provides a clear, impartial, and transparent process for determining your financial aid eligibility. Start your application now.

How does MVC determine if a family is eligible for financial aid?

Any family with currently enrolled students may apply for financial aid and/or any scholarships for which they may qualify.

The admissions decision and the financial aid decision are made separately, and all regular financial aid awards are based solely on need shown. You can read more about our financial aid policies here.

Financial Aid is granted on the basis of financial need and requires annual qualification. Eligibility is based in part on income and asset levels during the previous calendar/tax year. Financial Aid Awards are determined on a yearly basis and are not guaranteed to repeat for any subsequent year(s). Therefore, families must submit an application for each year they need financial aid. All financially responsible parties must fill out an application through FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment Service in order to determine qualification for aid.

It is important to note that the amount of the award is dependent on the resources available. Not all families who qualify will receive financial assistance. Priority for assistance is highest in grades 9-12.

How do I apply for financial aid?

For the 2024-2025 school year, all families who wish to apply for financial aid must complete the following through FACTS Grant & Aid online application:

  1. Complete the application in FACTS Grant & Aid. This application should be carefully reviewed for accuracy and completeness. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
  2. Submission, through FACTS, of prior year Federal and State Income Tax returns and applicable W2's/1099's. (ex. for 2024-2025 school year, 2022 returns and W2 are required). Important note: In addition, 2022 Federal and State returns and applicable W2's/1099's are also required to be submitted upon completion as per instruction on the FACTS forms. Any significant income changes from the 2022 to the 2023 tax year may result in a modification of offered assistance.
  3. Describe in the application any specific circumstances that are not reflected in your family’s income tax information.
  4. An explanation is required if your reported expenses exceed gross income.

Failure to complete the above checklist by the below deadline will result in your application being placed on a "further information required" list. You may check your application status at any time through FACTS for missing information.
